A big thank-you (I think!) to the organiers who put together what was a great course and one that did what it said on the tin!
Well done to everyone else who rode on the day and is still glowing with the sense of achievement that the ride left me with. This was my first sportive in 2 years, the last being the very wet 2010 KK and I have to say the hardest one I've ridden to date. I was feeling quietly confident as I approached Brands Hatch on Sunday Morning, was gutted my pal Tony couldn't tackle it due to his lack of training, but hey we can't help those day to day commitments that interfere with our riding no matter how hard we try.

Andy Warhol once famously said that in the future every one will be world famous for 15 minutes. Well, it isn’t quite world fame, but I finally achieved my 15 minutes of glory in the small world of the EBCC. Sitting in the restaurant at Brands Hatch after riding the first major sportive of the season, the Kentish…

Chris, thanks to your team for organising a fantastic and challenging event. I believe that Team Sidcup Cycles got more riders to the finish of the 50/70 milers combined than any other team. A special mention to Steve Lines who finished 4th overall in the 50 and 1st in MVet40 earning himself a Gold. So well done to Team Sidcup Cycles!
Cheers, Stefan Wright.
